K2 base camp trek Pakistan

Recently, I got an opportunity to go to K2 Basecamp Trek.

And how could I have let this opportunity down? Because this trek was always in my bucket list. So I packed the bags and went to Skardu from Islamabad. After reaching Skardu you can either rest or climb the tree and eat cherries like me.

That's totally up to you. The next day, we set off early towards Askole. After enjoying 7 hours of bumpy jeep ride, we reached Askole. The last settlement before entering the wilderness of Karakorams.Askole is just a teaser for the coming days. Sleeping in the tent, all raw. If you get used to it then the coming days are easy for you. Also, try sleeping early because every day they'll wake you up early for the trek. The next day they weighed our bags, everything packed, porters aka superhumans ready and we started our trek towards Joule camp.*guide singing in Balti Language* We went off the track, we were supposed to go up rather than going down This is the way, guides are saying it would take around 1.5 to 2 hours to reach.

Let's hope it's not more than 2 hours

because energy is already drained. The most annoying part of the trek is this U-turn to reach the campsite. There wasn't much to do at the campsite so I flew the drone and enjoyed the view of Bakhor Das Peak.

Day 2 of the trek

today we are going to leave from Joula to Paiju campsite. Hopefully, it's 22 km as per the guides says. I think it's more than that and it would take 6-7 hours to reach there. We covered the last trek very quickly, so guides asked us to walk slowly. After the break we continued our trek, Approximately,  so far we have covered 10 km. And according to the guide, it's going to take 3 to 3.5 more hours to reach. Right now it's 11:15 AM so InshaAllah, we'll reach around 02:00 PM.

Most of the travel groups stay here in Paiju for the rest day. But our schedule is a bit tight, so no rest days for us. Another Day and we are trekking towards Urdukus Don't know if we reach Urdukus or not because the guide told us if we reach a campsite in between around 01:00 PM only then we continue further, if we reach late then we stay the night there. So yeah, let's see.

We are about 8 km from the Paiju Camp on Baltoro Glacier. The water situation is critical. My one bottle is with porter, who is walking quite far ahead. And only two sips left in the bottle I am carrying. Let's see what happens. After crossing the cold water of the glacier, we reached Khoburtse. After the meeting, we decided not to stay here and go to Urdukus. and it's going to take 3 more hours. Put the whole trek at one side and this deadly incline at another, This was the most difficult stage for me. Today we are going towards Goro II from Urdukus. We'll have a lunch break at Goro I. After that it's going to take 45 minutes for locals and for us it's obviously 2 hours or more. The weather is really pleasant, not that cold. So we have reached Goro II. It took us 7 hours to reach from Urdukus including rest, and a lunch break. Pretty much good. The route from Paiju to Urdukus is very difficult. This was comparatively very easy. COMPARATIVELY, That's our campsite.

Right on the glacier. With this tremendous and magnificent view. Finally, the most awaited day has arrived.

Today we are going to trek towards Concordia

Super excited because dream come true scene. So it's been 10 km that we have been walking from Goro II to Concordia. It's amazing, One of the best treks so far If you want to save yourself on this trek, for that you need a stick, good gaiters, and waterproof shoes. These things are important. And obviously, you need water as well. Also, I forgot about the sunglasses, they are also essential, UV protected, and Polaroid. Because reflection from this snow messes up your vision.

We have reached Concordia and that my friends are K2.

Achievement Unlocked and yeah that's it...

Today is the rest day.

We aren't going ahead because of the snow. And guides aren't sure about the crevices. As you can see everything is covered in clouds and the weather is getting clear from that side, so in a couple of hours we'll have a better view of K2 and Broad Peak again. *critically low battery* *landing* And that's how I lost my beloved drone. Tried to rescue it but the drone wanted to stay more in Concordia. Learned one thing though

Never fly drone after low battery warning

It can crash anytime

Have seen the K2 but due to bad weather conditions couldn't go to Gondogoro La. For that, I'll be back again. Before going I would like to thank find my adventure and North Paradise Pakistan for providing such amazing services in these harsh conditions And especially to these superhumans for making our trip more memorable Thank you!

Affordability a Pakistan is extremely affordable the local food the hotels the transportation and anything you want to buy is extremely cheap, but even if you want to buy it you probably won't be allowed For example, when I went to get local food with my friends, my friends refused to let me pay and then the key selling the food refused to let my friends pay and he just wanted to give me the food for free me being a tourist and a foreigner and so from the time I arrived in Pakistan until when I left I literally didn't spend any money at the time I wasn't doing social media I had never made a video and so it was just out of the goodness of the Pakistanis heart, I'm here for 40 hours before I fly up north and now we're on our way to condone going Pancho.

People are so friendly it's incredible every time I arrived at the airport locals picked me up they offered to let me stay at their place they took me anywhere and everywhere that I could want to go it was incredible and again they refused to ever let me pay And this wasn't just people I connected with random strangers, people on the street were incredibly friendly and nice and always so helpful so many countries out there when you visit them, they know you're a foreigner and they try to upsell you they try to rip you Off they try to scam you in some way, but that never happened ever in Pakistan if anything they scammed me the other way and didn't let me spend any money and so the Pakistani people are so nice and absolutely incredible

This is the reason for going to Pakistan to break stereotypes when I was a child and grew up in the United States Pakistan was a very dangerous place Told
And it can go beyond reality Pakistan is an incredible place with such friendly and wonderful people And this is one of the places that you have enough you have to go there to experience it the whole you are, the concept of Pakistan will change if you look at Pakistan, this is a crazy thing if you really use facts and date you will feel the statistics are significantly higher in the United StatesDangerous Crazier than Pakistan and here too there is such a place the American Virgin Islands that meetThousands of tourists all the time this is the fourth most dangerous placeWorldFar more dangerous than Pakistan one is afraid to go to an American virgin island but Pakistan has a reason tourists are afraid to visit and tour Very important for countries and a lot of people own restaurants getting hotels and shops and more people in the country will help to buy things Improve the country.

so not only is Pakistan a beautiful place to see And amazing people go there Helps people and that's why it helps you Need to go Pakistan
